If You Think This is a Chameleon, You’re Not Looking Close Enough

This might look like one of the dinosaur-like chameleons found on Madagascar, but it’s not of reptilian nature at all – it’s actually two nude models. The optical illusion was done by Johannes Stötter, a bodypainter who has unbelievable skills and can transform his models into elements of nature ranging from birds and lizards to a woodland creek.

At first glance it’s easy to be fooled, but upon closer inspection you’ll see the intricate detail he goes into blending his models with their natural backgrounds. Suffice to say, he’s definitely somebody who could probably give you some awesome Halloween makeup.

Check out a few more of Johannes’ bodypainting masterpieces, from this colorful five-person tree frog below to the boy who blends in near perfectly with the stream behind him.
