Masayoshi Matsumoto is a Japanese balloon artist who will put any other balloon animal in the history of kid parties to shame. Forget the humble balloon dog or giraffe – Matsumoto has twisted inflatables into hundreds of complex masterpieces, such as a phoenix, a buffalo, an iguana, a rooster or a centipede to name a few.
The 26-year-old artist has been making balloon animals for 7 years. Each animal takes around 2 hours to complete, and the more complex ones can take up to 6 hours.
When he is finished, he takes a photo for his website, and immediately pops the finished piece. Matsumoto runs a blog where he posts his latest creations; he explains that he uses no markers, tapes, glues or seals to aid in the creation of his pieces.
