Being a Working Mom is All About Finding Balance

Juggling motherhood and a career isn’t an easy task for a mom, but it can be done. On one hand you want to spend as much time with your kids as possible, but you also need and may even want to work. It’s all about finding the right balance. Women make up half the workforce, and it’s no surprise that many of those women are also caring mothers.

Here are a few tips for finding the right work/motherhood balancing… and keeping your sanity.

Drop the Stress

Instead of dwelling on the guilt of being away from your family, remind yourself how your role in the company is for your family’s benefit. Know that there will be good and bad days and console with friends who at work who may have found themselves in the same situation.

Childcare

Just because you’re working doesn’t mean your child has to miss out on fun. Know what you want in childcare and seek the best early learning centres for your child, whether it be through your job, a family member or scheduling playdates with coworkers who have kids.

Plan Ahead

This is a big one, and the more you plan the easier work and being a mom will be. Pack those lunches at night rather than waiting until the morning and finish up any work notes while the kids are in karate or ballet class.
