Miley Cyrus may not have landed herself the title of Time Magazine’s “Person of the Year,” but she’s got the Google numbers on lock. Google released their 2013 Zeitgeist report results of what people were searching for in 2013 and the winning person is *drumroll*… Miley!
Let that factoid sink in for just a second, out of the 280 million people in the United States, the person best known for this,
was the most popular on the internet. Wow.
Not that the runners up who she beat were world changers either — she beat out Drake, Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber and Beyonce to secure her spot. Her VMA performance (#3 on the top trending world events for this year) is what pushed her search results into the lead.
Luckily, Nelson Mandela passed away, making sure that a 19-year-old best known for a career switch from Disney to ass shaking didn’t dominate search results around the world.
