Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Tonight Show’ Is Off To An Impressive Start With Will Smith

NBC barley gave viewers a week to mourn the departure of Jay Leno before moving Jimmy Fallon into the “Tonight Show” hosting slot. And so far, Jimmy’s first week is off to a stellar start.

It was obvious from his stint on “Late Night” that Jimmy was a fan of 90s nostalgia, and he highlighted that with the “Tonight Show’s” first guest, Will Smith coming on to do an evolution of hip-hop dancing sketch, reports E!.

“Dressed in overalls and printed tees, the duo performed the “Evolution of Hip-Hop Dancing,” showing off moves ranging from the “Cabbage Patch” and the “Running Man” to the “Robot” and the “Pop and Lock.” Other signatures included “Crank That (Soulja Boy),” “Kid ‘N Play,” “MC Hammer” and “The Carlton.” Unfortunately, Smith’s Fresh Prince of Bel-Air costar Alfonso Ribeiro didn’t make a cameo.”

Last year, Fallon’s fans saw him do the evolution of mom dancing with First Lady Michelle Obama, but the hip-hop dance sequence is on track to surpass it with 5 million views thus far.

Without losing any steam on night two, Jimmy welcomed Kristen Wiig who came out dressed as popstar Harry Styles, looking every bit the part of a teen idol.

Night two was rounded out with stand-up and a sit-down with longtime “Tonight Show” favorite Jerry Seinfeld who had some quips on modern parenting. With two nights of surprises for the show’s viewers, it’s probably a safe bet that Jimmy Fallon has some tricks in mind for Wednesday’s show too.
