Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it. Kanye West found this out the hard way after proclaiming during his Governor’s Ball performance “Honestly, at this point, I could give a fuck about selling a million records.”
Vulture reports that his album Yeezus then went on to sell 327,000 copies its first week, a career low for Kanye. Don’t feel too sorry for the egomaniac hip-hop star just yet, the album was still No. 1 that week, just not a No. 1 for Kanye. It beat out J. Cole’s sophomore effort Born Sinner (298,000 sold). Told you not to feel bad for him.
Who knows what Kanye thinks of the lower than average but still No. 1 sales (kinda ironic huh?) the man has other things to worry about. He just welcomed new daughter North West with his girlfriend Kim Kardashian. New kid, new record, Kanye is on top for now.
