L.A. News Anchor Gets Called Out By Samuel L. Jackson For On-Air Mistake

Note to any journalists, radio personalities or people who happen to interview Samuel L. Jackson, don’t confuse him with Laurence Fishburne.

According to EW, Jackson spoke Los Angeles entertainment reporter, Sam Rubin as part of promotion for his upcoming RoboCop movie, but the interview caught a bit of a snag when Rubin confused Jackson with Laurence Fishburnee. Rubin asked Jackson if had gotten a lot of reaction to a Super Bowl commercial — Jackson didn’t take long to put the puzzle together — and was then called out by the actor for the mistake.

A noticeably flustered Rubin was quick to admit his mistake for the mix-up, but Jackson wasn’t about to let him off the hook that easily. Jackson responded with: “We don’t all look a like…. and surprisingly, I’ve never done a Kentucky Fried Chicken commercial either.” Ouch! Just a little bit uncomfortable to watch, but hilarious at the same time.

After eating crow with Jackson, Rubin made another apology for mistake on the air, hoping to smooth things over with the viewers and probably Jackson a bit more, too.

The mistake isn’t new to Jackson or Fishburne as both are constantly mistaken for each other on Twitter and Firshburne having even signed Jackson’s autograph when approached by “Pulp Fiction” fans.
