MTV’s VMAs Are Leaving NYC And Moving Back To LA

So long, MTV, don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. MTV is packing up their sewage show, The Video Music Awards, after just one year in New York City and moving back to Los Angeles.

Maybe you remember last year’s VMA’s at Brooklyn’s Barclay Center. This should jog your memory…

*Shiver* Would having the VMAs on the surface of the sun or Pluto be an option?

MTV announced the news via this photo from Instagram which shows the moon man in front of the newly renovated Forum in Inglewood, California.

The Forum has never hosted the VMAs, but since 1967, the venue has seen the likes of The Rolling Stones, Jackson 5, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen and Prince. So basically, MTV plans on tarnishing it forever. The host hasn’t yet been announced (not that it really matters anymore) but the date has been set for a live broadcast on Aug. 24th.
