Going to Bed Hungry, The Changing Face of a Child

Going to bed hungry is something that no child should have to experience, yet it’s an unfortunate reality that some 15.8 million children in the United States (roughly 1 in 5) know all too well. Good nutrition, especially in the early years of human development is crucial to the physical and mental health of a human.

In the United States, one of the richest countries in the world, this is simply a problem which shouldn’t exist and it needs to change. Which is exactly why Project Sunlight is working to the millions of children who don’t know where their next meal is coming form. Documentary film maker Patrick Creadon captured the faces of hunger across America in a touching short “Going to Bed Hungry: The Changing Face of Child Hunger.” The message of this short film is a simple one: anyone can help and the smallest acts can make a difference. Sharing a meal and making an impact can be done in a variety of ways, from collecting canned food goods to volunteering at a food bank or offering to pay for a week of a child’s school lunches.

It’s about working together, taking care of your neighbors and making sure that no child in your community has to go hungry. To learn more about Project Sunlight and how you can help feed the need children in this country visit their website here.
