It’s eye-opening to think about all the distant corners of the world that touch base throughout the day at an airport as large as London’s Heathrow Airport. Flights crisscross across the sky and pedestrians on the ground can only look up and wonder where they’re coming or going from. British Airways is changing that with some pretty cool new billboards.
The billboards installed in London’s Picadilly Circus were created by Ogilvy 12th Floor and show digital information about the planes that pass overhead. A child walks across the screen, points at the plane and the billboard reads, “Look, it’s flight BA475 from Barcelona.” The billboards use custom-built surveillance technology with the pre-recorded video to create a fun new way of looking up at the sky.
