Photographer Brings Klimt’s Paintings to Life With Real Models

At this year’s annual Life Ball in Vienna, photographer Inge Prader used real life models and elaborate props to recreate the famous paintings of artist Gustav Klimt. The event, which this year was Vienesse Sessionist-themed, raised funds for HIV/AIDS patients and aimed to eliminate taboos surrounding the condition.

Using opulent costumes and make up, Prader staged living reproductions of well-known pieces from Klimt’s ‘Golden Phase’. Luminous gold decorations, elegant nudes and warrior-like creatures came together to resemble ‘Beethoven Frieze’, ‘Death and Life’, ‘Medicine’ and more.

Scroll down to see Prader’s new perspective on some of the most famous paintings of our time. Quite fascinating!
